Will My Phone Work Internationally?

Will My Phone Work Internationally?

A common question Americans ask when planning their European vacation is, “will my phone work in Europe?”

Most AT&T and T-mobile phones will work. Sprint and Verizon use different technology to operate their network, so most of their phones do not work in Europe. If you are on one of the other networks like Straight Talk, U.S. Cellular, Cricket, Boost Mobile, etc. your phone most likely will not work.

Americans need to test two components to know if their phone will work in Europe.
1) Does the phone meet European standards to operate?
2) Does your phone plan work?

This article helps you discover if your phone has the correct technology to work on your international trip.

To answer the second question, you’ll need to read the How Much Will I Pay for International Roaming section in Understanding European SIM cards for Americans.
